I pray fervently to God, for helping me frame this blog in right sense, not to frame it in my own understanding but to completely give the real thought on how God views Women.

Characteristics of A Godly Women

1. Helper to Man. The Hebrew word for "Helper" is "ezer"

Ezer literally means "to rescue, to save and to be strong". Or in other words a strong kind of help! In the old testament, this word is used a number of times and mostly to describe a situation were immense help is required. In context of naming, Moses also names his son "Eliezar" literally meaning "ELI" God - EZER - Helper, God my Helper.

From the very beginning, when God created every living creature on earth, he created them male and female, so when the time came for God to create mankind, he created them "Male" and "Female". God found Adam to be lonely and he found his loneliness as "not good", and felt it was needed for him to have a companion and a helper, so he created "WOMAN" named Eve.

The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." Genesis 2:18

Many Women of today, hate being called a "helper" of any form, somehow the word "helper" has lost its importance and has been thrashed around like a dishonoured position. I strongly disagree to it, help or a helper is required only when you alone cannot complete the purpose which was intended. God created Man, and then saw that Man was not enough to complete the purpose and fulfilment of God and so He created "Woman" so that together they could accomplish what was started.

2. Being Full Of Wisdom :

Wisdom is never achieved at birth, wisdom grows over time so life and maturity builds it at every walk. How is wisdom started? When we fear the Lord, we begin to attain wisdom in slow portions, and though we receive them the understanding of the wisdom received and the whole purpose of it in our life is only got by Holy Spirit rekindling our heart and mind.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Proverbs 31 : 26

Godly Women has her mind filled with Wisdom, which reflects in her talks, in her teachings, in her behaviour. She is a role model, an influencer and a builder of good things. So how can you be sure as a Woman that what your thoughts and actions are, if they are Godly wisdom?

a. When your Wisdom is based on the Word of God and not on Other influences and talks.

b. When your Wisdom is to Make a Home flourish and not to Break a Home.

The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish tears it down with her own hands.

Proverbs 14: 1

c. When your Wisdom reflects God's Peace and Joy and not negativism and fear, even at the most difficult phase of your family life, when your presence, brings peace and a sense of encouragement no matter what the situation is around, you reflects Godly Wisdom.

d. When your Wisdom, is humbling, honouring and valuing what you have, reflects Godly Wisdom.

Wisdom is a Growing Character, and it grows and Matures over time and experience. A Godly Women always reflects it and further passes it on to the Younger Generations.

3. Dignity and Strength

Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future. Provers 31: 25

A Godly Women displays "STRENGTH" and "DIGNITY".

"STRENGTH" : Her thoughts are strong willed, her mind is not crowded with ego and pride, her thoughts are not limited to fear and superstitions, she deals with life with "Strength" not just physically, but mentally. Strength that makes her "Laugh" at the unknown scary future, Strength that builds her faith within, to not laugh like how Sarah did, but to laugh with faith that God will lead and fulfil his purpose in her life.

"DIGNITY" (the state or quality of being worthy of honour or respect.): i want to leave that open, your ways, your acts, your attire, your life, your talks all would reflect "Dignity" once you walk in Wisdom and Understanding of what is God's purpose and role for your life. Why would it reflect "Dignity" cause you then understand whose "Daughter You Are" and when you do understand Whose daughter you are and what Your father has done for you, you will reflect "Dignity" in everything with "No Questions Asked". Cause you will kick off everything that stops you from doing so.

4. Godly Women Understands God's Hierarchy and Submits to his design

CHRIST --> HUSBAND --> WIFE --> CHILDREN

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Saviour. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body.“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Ephesians 6 : 21-33

First lets get somethings cleared off, hierarchy doesn't throw off equality !

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galations 3: 28 --> This verse clearly states that there is Male or Female are all one in Christ Jesus, the verses following states that, you are clothed in Christ , so what ever you might be, only Christ would be reflected through you. So if all are equal why do we need hierarchy ?

We all cant deny that God believed in hierarchy at home and in church. He believed in elders, leader, high priest and so on and so forth. But God's hierarchy is different than the worlds's ways. He did say, Wives Submit to your husband, but he gave a bigger tasks to husband to do is to be like Christ and to love their wives, like how Christ loved the Church, that He gave His life for the church. So it was not about dominance, control or even superiority, it was about responsibility, roles assigned to live the life designed by God. He created them "MALE" and "Female", so He definitely created them with different characters, different emotions and different strengths and weakness.

Wives submit to your own husbands as the Church submits to Christ literally means, respect and value your husband, show that He should lead and take the role of Christ in the house. I agree, its hard, it breaks our ego, it makes us feel like we are below our husbands, and this definitely does not suit our "Equality" Culture, when somebody is supposed to lead. So, "Yes" there is an authority structure for the family and the Husbands are the "Head" of the House. They are given a tougher job of leading the House and their family to lead and reflect God's Love and Character. Remember "Christ giving His Life on Cross so that we can all lead a blemish free life as his Wife(Church)"? Then know that, being Christ is not easy and that role is for the "Husband" to make sure his Family is lead in the right direction. Submitting to Your Husband, reflects your love and respect for him and not your weakness and pity position. Your submission to your Husband reflects Church's submission to Christ, always remember that.

Just a Thought: "No one Can Argue with a Humble Person"

Devil definitely does not want US Godly Women to ever Submit to our Husbands, so if we do, we have WON the biggest Battle based on which he has won many wars.

5. Titus 2 Women

There are many women groups around the world titled "Titus 2 Women" , so what is so special about titus 2 women and why Proverbs 30 women is contradicting the titus 2 women in the word of God.

I wont be quoting the entire word, here, please do read the chapter in whole and pray and ask God for discernment and understanding what the purpose was.

Before we dig in remember Titus 2 talks about both men and women(older and younger) and defines certain characters that reflect us to the outside world.

It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you. Titus 2: 12- 15

Characters mentioned in TITUS 2 are

a. Being reverent: Being someone that calls for high respect. Our behaviour, our deeds, our thoughts, would make anyone look up on us and say "What a Woman, Respect!"

b. Not to be addicted to too much wine : Chill about this, as this is referred to both man and woman. So any man or women who is drunk, is obviously not in his or her senses, and God really wants all of us to be in "SENSES" :) , but the devil is so much not for it! Its pretty straight forward why this was said.

c. Teachers and Trainers of Good Values and About Relationships: Are we as women, really being oblivious of what is happening around us and influence wrong things on relationships, on what is good in the name of trend and gossip. We many times get so easily influenced by the people talking around us and end up breaking our own marriage and sometimes even our friends marriage. Everything that happens is subtle, we either encourage our friend, when they come and share their personal life issues or we jokingly share negative aspects about relationship in general. Let our words be edifying, building, caring and thoughtful, remembering fully well the purpose of God in marriages and relationships and values. Many arrows would be thrown your way, but as Godly women, remember to turn them into Good, reflect back love, joy, positivity!

God asked the elder women, to teach the younger women what is good and how to love their husbands and children. Value what you have, teach back to the younger generation about the element of building a beautiful Home.

d. Self –Control : Again mentioned for both men and women, self control is required in every aspect of our life, as a daughter, as a sister, as a mother and as a mother in law and so on and so forth, Self –Control is literally controlling yourself, which means that your immediate reaction might need some taming, if it is not right or not in line with God’s word. Self –Control is a hard character to master. LEARN TO MASTER YOUR EMOTIONS.

e. Pure : Pure at heart is what matters, everything else will follow. Make your heart empty of bitterness, remorse, pride, egoistic character and so on and so forth.

f. Busy at home: Does this call all women to be Housewives? Nope, it states Godly women to prioritise bringing up their children and building their Homes more than the things outside. Being Busy at home in my sense, is even though I have a help to cook food for our children, I need to know what goes inside my kids stomach, even though I send them to school for education, I need to be their primary educator of values and life, I have the greatest responsibility to make my house a HOME I love this work, and I don’t get furious why this role was typically assigned to me and not to a man. I feel it’s the greatest blessing and a biggest responsibility one could ever get. We as Women, build the foundation at our homes, we build the ambience for our children and husband. When we look at a home, the first person that comes to our mind is the Women in that house. Lets not take this and brood over it and wonder why God has told this in the word, it clearly just means for us to love our home and be fruitful and productive there so we can see results, its one of the many roles assigned by God for us.

g. Kind: Pretty straight forward! But remember the day you spoke rudely with your maid servants? Or your dobi man ? Kindness, should reflect in our way of speaking, addressing and also understanding the people in our lives. Value Humans, like Humans, and not like some lowly beings. Kindness is directly proportionate to love we have in our hearts. Its easy to love our status oriented people, but its not easy to love people who work for us for wages. Treat everyone with kindness.

h. Subject to their Husband: Already discussed, nothing new here. This character, reflects the very nature of Church, so reflect right ! :)

6. Women At Worship at Church

So there is an entire chapter in the Bible that talks on "Instruction of Worship"

The chapter is 1 Timothy 2 J A brief introduction, this was written by Paul, and this is a letter about Ephesus church to timothy. So as per historical evidence and many scholars teaching, there was some major confusion in the way the churches were dealing in those generations. But we cant completely come to an agreement that this was meant only for that era and has nothing to do with today’s churches and time. But even in the start of the letter Paul makes a statement very clear “Such things Promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work- which is by faith. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith”

Paul also goes ahead and states “The law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious” (Generally stating rules are not required for children who know and do Right) So after saying all this he states certain rules required in order to worship at church

Rule #1 Petitions/Prayers/intercessions and thanksgiving made for all people- for kings and all those in authority.

Rule #2 Men everywhere to pray lifting holy hands without anger and disputing

Rule #3: I want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

Did this mean, God hates ornaments and expensive clothes? The fact is woman around the world are known to spend most of their time in dressing up and looking good, that is an innate nature given by God himself while creating women, that doesn’t make you a sinner, or make you against the word of God, what will make you ungodly is when your heart is not filled with pure conscience and your life with good deeds, reflecting the beauty inside out. The verse here literally asks us to focus more on good deeds, as much as we focus on how we look and dress up and present ourselves. Women have amazing roles assigned by God! If only we get our ego, and our defensive nature out of the way, we can truly see God’s heart which is full of love for each one of us and understand that when he chose you to stand up and profess to worship God, he wants you to Reflect as a Daughter of God and surely you cant merge with the crowd or the world, your beauty, your dignity, your very nature should reflect Christ.

Rule #4 Women should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a women to teach or assume authority over a man she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

Now this above verse really put a split in the churches all around the world, some believe that women can never preach at church, some believe this was just a historical statement and has nothing to do with the present age. But the fact is it is in the Bible, so what does it actually mean, lets reflect on this, Women showing Dominating Nature, with loudness in speech and teaching, is not accepted in Church! Is dominance allowed for Men to do? “NO”, there is no instance in the Bible that says, Men are called to Dominate Women. Most of the argument itself is, who is superior to who? But God considers both Men and women as equal assigning them different roles specifically needed to build the kingdom of God.

In order for God to teach us the deep truths of the Kingdom of God, we need to learn in quietness and in full submission, if this verse would have just been put in general without specifying “Women” it wouldn’t have actually gone into the controversial part of the story! Somehow the Bible does say, “Women Must Be Quiet, learn in quietness and in full submission”! It’s a strong call to let the Man lead!

Just recently heard the term “Fake Submission” and there were many people laughing and talking on those lines, where they might be kneeling down but on cushioned surfaces! Lets reason our hearts, to really understand why we rage when we read certain passages in the word of God, when we have decided to give our all to God?

I am no scholar, to really say what is right and what is wrong here, but I leave it open to you all “Godly Women”, even in situations where your submission is required in the worst situations, remember your humbleness and your pure heart is seen by your Father in heaven! Always remember, that what you do on earth is not to honour Man or Women, or People or Culture, it is to Glorify and Honour Your Father in Heaven.

Let us Completely Surrender Our Thoughts, Our Ambitions, Our Pride, our Ego, Our Failures, Our Control, Our Emotions, our Brokenness Into Our Father’s Hand! Lets Fly Up above that With Wings of Eagles So that we will Laugh at our opponents and say, “Come with whatever Strength you Have, We are the Daughters of the Most High God, Our Father has turned all our Weakness into our Greatest Strengths.”
