Feeling Grateful

Many a times we live in a fake assumption that we are completely grateful for the life that we live and somehow deep within our head we have unresolved emotions that keeps us in a state of dissatisfaction often leading to a mind that is not active and alive. I was in such a state for many years and I didnt even realise it. I have the best of everything, home, family, friends, work, children, finances and even peace, but there was dissatisfaction that often surfaced in a very negative manner.
Work felt heavier, responsibility weighed down my spirit, arranging rearranging felt like the normal way of life, putting a big smile upfront others no matter the mess within your head felt like a normal day. Emotional meltdown and complete burn out was bound to happen and it did. But reality didn't strike yet, I didn't know what was the problem and where to start to actually feel peaceful and alive. That is when you thank God to have married the man I call "Wise" who is super raw - He asked me to revisit being grateful.
Gratefulness is much deeper than what is taught in sunday school. Gratefulness isn't saying "ThankYou" its a mindset to truly feel blessed for the people, home, situations, work, kids, family, friends and even the most simplest thing such as roof over your head and food on the table and breath in your nostrils. Gratefulness is seeing what you have and appreciating and valuing it. Gratefulness is being at peace right now with what life has offered you. It is simple right - but it was something I never did. I complained, whined, was irritated, upset always feeling that the grass is greener on the other side, until one day that other side came right under my feet and then I realised what I truly had and now its gone. They say you will only know the worth of what you have when you lose it. It can be a simple wallet to a long found love, but it doesnt have to be that way, we can all change and learn to value and truly be happy with what is right now with us, that can really bring about a sense of peace and joy like never before.
My life is completely changed for the good, I thank God everyday for every small to big things in my life and even if for a moment I get mad (which happens as we are all humans), I truly repent and try hard never to be in that place. Even as I paddle through uncertainty, I have learnt to learn, conquer and achieve rather than whine, complain and sulk :)
